“Just like a luxury boutique hotel offering Balinese perfection

Out holiday at The Lotus Residence was absolutely amazing. The property is beyond gorgeous – much larger than we expected, and the pools, accommodation villas and central pavilion are just lovely. There is water everywhere. The gardens are everything you would imagine Bali would be (but you won’t necessarily readily find).
The staff are wonderful – they went out of their way to assist us – nothing was a problem and Perry, the manager has everything under control: from organising masseurs to come in each day, to a yoga instructor to provide classes in the yoga studio at the bottom of the garden, to a special party for my daughter’s 14th birthday, to day trips to Ubud to go white water rafting or the car to take us into Seminyak and bring us home at whatever time of the day (or night) suited us.
We were 3 families travelling together. The property is large enough for everyone to have their own space, but with lots of opportunities to come together – especially in the evenings in the main bar and dining area.
I really can’t recommend this property highly enough. Yes, it is quite far away from some of the main centres, so I suppose if you wanted to just walk into town to go shopping or to a restaurant, you may find it a bit remote; however that never bothered us as Wisky would drive us everywhere we wanted to go (he has that crazy Bali traffic completely under control), and property is so beautiful, a day spent there was never a waste of valuable holiday time.”

“A Hidden Gem in Bali

For a big family like ours, the perfect holiday would be a relaxing one where the adults can laze around while the children can entertain themselves playing in the pool and a big compound. This is why the Lotus Residence is PERFECT for us. There were 14 of us (9 adults and 6 children), and the 6 rooms villa can accommodate us just nice. Since we came to just relax, our 4D3N stay was a good period. We stayed in the villa most of the time, but we also made a trip to Tanah Lot to witness the beautiful sunset by the cliff. The villa is nestled in the middle of a paddy field village, and the area is quite remote as compared to commercialized districts like Seminyak or Kuta. We love the huge compound, which also includes a traditional rice barn-come-playhouse, serene spa area equipped with plunging pool, cold water water fountain pool, Jacuzzi and also a yoga area. The big pool is the heart of the villa where the kids mostly spend their time playing there. The highlight is of course, the water slide down the hilly lawn. The children absolutely loved it and they go on it every day!! The rooms are spacious, with an outdoor bathroom concept. It’s such a bliss to shower while starring at the moon and the stars. What you see in the website, is what you get. The villa comes with a team of staff for housekeeping, a chef to cook whatever you want to eat, a driver on standby to drive you to anywhere. Thanks to Ayu and Tobi from Private Leisure to make all the arrangements smooth and efficient. Most importantly, we thank Mr Perry (the villa manager) and his team for the kind hospitality, and excellent service. Would we go there again? DEFINITELY. Would we recommend this? WITHOUT A DOUBT, YES!”

“Beyond my wildest dreams

There are not even words to describe how amazing it was to stay here for three nights recently. We booked the villa as a venue for my wedding and everyone agreed it was an absolutely stunning back drop. From the moment we walked into the villa we were greeted like family and no request was too much to ask. Breakfast served daily was always delicious and yes, we definitely enjoyed some eggs! The rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily, including an evening turn down service. The driver was available to us for runs into seminyak or even if we had run out of a particular item, they would pop out and get whatever it was for us. The food made by the cook was fresh and delicious and was happy to whip up whatever we felt like.
On the morning of our wedding day, we were greeted with chimes of ‘congratulations’ before being presented with a giant (and I meant GIANT) arrangement of red roses from the staff. My wedding planner (not affiliated with the villa) couldn’t believe it and said she’d never seen any villa staff do anything like that before.
A very big thank you to Perry and Koman (apologies if I have spelt those wrong) for making our stay so wonderful, we look forward to returning soon.”

“Fabulous, relaxing stay in a beautiful villa

We stayed at the Lotus Residence for 10 nights in Jan 2012 and had a wonderful time. We were a large group of 4 families (8 adults and 10 children aged between 5 months and 9 years). The villa staff kindly accommodated all of us by providing 5 extra beds (mattresses on the floor but were large and comfy and fine for the kids) – for $80 a night per extra bed and a cot (free of charge).

The 4 main bedrooms were huge and had beautiful outdoor bathrooms and the other 2 bedrooms were just large enough to fit 3 single beds. The main beds were huge and incredibly comfortable. The living area was also very spacious and had a couple of separate sitting areas and 2 dining spaces.

However, the highlight of this property is the gardens. The gardens seem to go on forever and there are lots of wonderful places for kids to explore. They are immaculately maintained and include a large main pool, a separate open air “yoga” studio, a rice barn style cubby house and a separate “spa” area with massage tables, sauna, large spa and cold plunge pool. Although it looked lovely, no-one spent much time in the spa as the water wasn’t warm enough.

The staff at the villa were fantastic. We had delicious meals, some of which were prepared (for 17 people) with only a couple of hours notice. The chef was very accommodating and happy to feed the children first (and most of the time with separate dishes to tempt fussy eaters). The staff were all very helpful with the kids – they even set up a slip n slide for them to play on which was a great hit.

The car and driver (Whisky) provided by the villa were very good and available at about 1/2 an hour’s notice. The car seats 7 people but the villa manager could order extra cars and drivers for us (if we asked him the night before) for $50 a day – if you do this make sure you request English speaking drivers though. You could easily stay in the villa and not leave at all (they can provide all food, drinks, massages, yoga classes etc) but if you want to explore (which we did), you need to be aware that the villa is quite remote and the traffic in Bali is appalling. It took us anywhere between 45 mins and 1.5 hours to drive from the villa to Seminyak. However, once we returned to the villa we all appreciated being back in the quiet surrounds which seemed like walking into an oasis after the craziness of Seminyak / Legian / Kuta.

Overall, a great holiday and thank you to all the staff at Lotus Residence. I would definitely recommend this villa to large groups with children who are happy to spend most of their time relaxing at the villa.”

“Luxurious tropical paradise with excellent service

I have been to Bali so many times I am beginning to lose count. After graduating from hotels in Kuta and Seminyak to Nusa Dua, I decided to give private villas a go. I have stayed in villas in Seminyak and Tanjung Benoa but nothing compares to The Lotus Residence.
To begin with we booked The Lotus Residence through an agent ( in future we will book with the villa directly). The villa is located in a small village near Kediri within the regency of Tabanan. Tabanan regency is known as the rice bowl of Bali ( hence the breathtaking views). We came in a huge family group of 12 which included two nannas, parents, single and 4 kids.
The villa is located in a part of Bali that is yet to be overtaken by hawkers and tourists but still close enough to enjoy days out shopping and eating in the livlier areas. For those who haven’t access to google maps Kediri is a good 30 minutes drive from Seminyak.
Eco Beach and various retaurants is only a 15 minute drive away and I do recommend the Beach House for great food and drinks.
The villa privides a driver for the day time and his van can take 7 passengers. If you have a larger group they can hire and extra van at a good price.
We spent most of our nights in the first week eating out in Seminyak, Kuta or Eco Beach but during the second week we ate more at the villa. We had a cook at our disposal and he was fantastic at whipping up various Balinese and western foods when we wanted. The deal is that you tell them what you would like for dinner and they will shop for the food and give you the bill (not expensive at all).
The villa is set on a huge property and is on three levels. The top level is the living and dining and family area and main pool. The second level has a waterfall and great kids play house. The third or bottom level is the spa area, jacuzzi, sauna, cold pool (refrigerated and freezing) and yoga/workout area pagoda. The gardens are like paradise. Everywhere you look there are butterflies and tropical flowering plants. The photos really don’t do it jtustice.
The villa has six bedrooms (four kings and two twins) all with an stunning outdoor bathroom. They are all aiur conditioned and all the king rooms have a tv. The rooms are huge and cool during the hot days and I enjoyed the outdoor bathtub very much.
The staff are friendly and become like family as your stay progresses. They are professional when required and great with kids. Nothing is too much trouble.
The main living area is massive and has two lounge areas and two dining areas and a bar that they can stock for you or you can stock(we did this).
If you want massage or spa treatments they order them in from a local spa at very good prices. We paid 225 000 Rp for our Balinese massage which was great.
The local area has some great shopping and as it is not a tourist desination the prices are local prices. I bought fabric and snack food and drinks in the local area. Five minutes away is a big supermarket called Hardys which sells everything you can imagine.
Great staff, food, acommodations and beautiful surroundings!! What more could you ask for??
I can honestly say this is the best villa experience I have had in Bali!”
